Character Bio

Scott Giles was born on the pollution-filled world of Hurston, in the capital city of Lorville. Throughout his early life, all he wanted to do was get away from the oppressive life that his parent had been forced to live. On his 18th birthday, he enlisted in the UEE Navy as it was his only opportunity to escape Hurston and somehow eventually have the resources and opportunity to decide his own fate.

He was quickly found to have an aptitude with flying, and due to the dire shortage of combat pilots in the endless Vanduul conflict, was immediately put into pilot training. He spent the next 12 years assigned to various hot spots, engaging the Vanduul on many occassions. He gained a reputation for staying cool under pressure, and being very methodical. His callsign became "Tactician".

After his military service, Giles was offered Citizenship, and he decided to join a shipping company run by his first CO. Giles used his savings to purchase an Aurora-class ship. Without any ideas for a decent name, he decided to call it Lorem Ipsum until he could come up with something better. The name became a private joke, and he decided to never change it.

After a couple of months, Giles decided to form his own company. Galactic Logistics and Expeditions was founded with the mission statement of providing cargo transport services as well as supporting long-term exploratory excursions. Over the next seven years, the company rapidly expanded in both personnel and ships. Currently, the most lucrative activity of the company is mining in the Aaron Halo asteroid belt. GLE is planning to expand to salvage and repair operations in the next few years.

In early 2952, GLE entered into a cooperative agreement with F&J Enterprises to conduct joint operations, primarily mining.
